Kidney Stones part II, Christmas, and Baby Shower!

December 22, 2011:

6:00 p.m. Last minute packing before we leave for Michigan at 3 a.m.

7:00 p.m. Pain kicks in from ANOTHER kidney stone, so I take two pain killers per doctors orders and wait about 30 minutes for them to kick in.

7:30 p.m. Jeff calls my doctor back because I have more pain and no relief. She instructs him to take me to Wake Med Cary Labor & delivery immediately.

7:45 p.m. Leave the house

8:00 p.m. Arrive at Wake Med

8:15 p.m. After several attempts at IV's no luck, so I finally get a shot of morphine in the arm.

8:30 p.m. IV finally hooked up and another dose of morphine.....and finally relief.

8:30-9:30 p.m. Pumped full of IV fluids. Use the restroom and literally POP! I birthed a stone the size of a snow pea. Largest stone I ever passed and shocked my doctor and nurse.
Some of you may think that is pretty small and it is, but you have to consider that this stone traveled through a tube in your body that is only the size of pencil lead.

9:45---DISCHARGE!! Since I passed the stone so quickly and thankfully didn't have any contractions I was free to go home with a few battle wounds of course! Yes that is 4 jabs with an IV and two collapsed veins.

After arriving back home, Jeff and I decided to play it by whether or not we were going to travel 14 hours in a car to go to Michigan the next day! We woke up pretty early about 8 and decided to go, but we weren't going to rush. We ended up leaving our house at 11:15 a.m. After lots of traffic back-ups tons of bathroom breaks and stretch breaks for me we arrived in Michigan at 2:30 a.m. on Christmas Eve day.

Traveling in a car for 14 hours at almost 8 months pregnant is no joy what so ever and I vowed to never ever do that again, especially once you hit Michigan's lovely roads.

We celebrated Christmas with the Laarman's on Christmas Eve, the Villanueva's on Christmas Day and the rest of the week was just a complete blur.

On Wednesday the 28th. I had my first baby shower and got sooo many wonderful gifts for our precious little peanut! It was also a great time to catch up with everyone (friends and family) that I never get to see because time is soo limited when we are in town.

We arrived back to NC on Saturday New Year's Eve. We have 6 days till we move and this is what I get to come home too...

Next up: Moving day, settling in and NURSERY TIME!!
